They may be manually enrolled by their teacher or enrolled automatically by the administrator. If allowed, a course can offer guest access to users who can then peruse the contents but not participate in any activities. Users may be allowed to unenrol themselves from a course or [[Unenrolment|unenrolment]] can be controlled by the teacher or administrator.

Course enrolment is the process where authenticated site users can join a course.

There are many options to enrol students

  • Users may be allowed to enrol themselves into a course, either directly or by means of an enrolment key they have been given.
  • They may be manually enrolled by their teacher or
  • Enrolled by the administrator by uploading a file or other means
  • If allowed, a course can offer guest access to users who can then peruse the contents but not participate in any activities.
  • unenrolment can be controlled by the teacher or administrator.
  • Or users can unenrol themselves if allowed by the settings.
