This page documents Moodle's new issues/bug/enhancement tracking system: Tracker.

General Information

-The new system will be referred to as "Tracker".

-Some user accounts have been created based on usernames from Moodle.org. Accounts for all Developers (those with the ability to check Moodle code into CVS) have been created, as have those with recent or much activity in the old system. Try to log in using your Moodle.org username and request a password. If no account has been created, then create a new account by following the prompts.

-Users have the ability to create, change, and update issues.

-Users have the ability to "watch" issue. Use the "watching" option from the left hand navigation bar when you're viewing an issue.

-The Filter system is quite powerful and comprehensive. Give it a try!

-Note that issues are assigned to an upcoming release. Select "Browse Project" then look for "versions" in the center column. This is a great way to identify what issues are currently included in upcoming releases.

-Users can do bulk updates. This feature is particularly useful to developers when assigning and re-assigning issues.

What's been completed so far?

-Tracker system has been configured.

-User groups with appropriate permissions have been set.

-All issues (open & closed) from old system (Bug Tracker) have been moved to Tracker. Note that issues have retained their ID numbers. Issues begin with the prefix MDL Tracker.

-User accounts for core developers (those with the ability to check Moodle code into CVS) have been created based on their Moodle.org username. Users are asked to request a password to login to the new system.

What's outstanding?

-The field "Created" displays the date 21/Aug/06 for all issues imported from old system. This is the date the new system was activated. We are working on a solution to populate this field with the correct value.

-The field "Reporter" will appear as either "anonymous" or blank for issues imported from old system. We are working on a solution to populate this field with the name of the person who reported the issue.

-Attachments are missing from issues. These should be reattached soon.

Found a problem with Tracker or have an idea for an improvement?

Log a new issue in Tracker! There has been a separate project set up in Tracker called "Moodle.org Sites". So all you need to do is select "Moodle.org Sites" from the drop-down list when creating a new issue. We'll review your suggestion and let you know.
