IMPORTANT: Admins of sites currently using the Box.net repository are advised to upgrade as soon as possible and run the Box.net-alias-to-copy-conversion tool. See Box.net APIv1 migration for details.

The Box.net repository enables users to copy files from Box.net into Moodle. (Previously a shortcut/alias could be made to a file stored in Box.net, however with Box.net API v2 this is unfortunately no longer possible.)

Enabling the Box.net repository

Note: In order to use he Box.net repository, your Moodle site must use HTTPS. In addition, an administrator must obtain a Box.net client ID and secret, as described in Box.net APIv1 migration. The client ID and secret can then be used to configure all Box.net plugins.

  1. Go to Administration > Site administration > Plugins > Repositories > Manage Repositories
  2. Activate the Box.net repository by selecting 'Enabled and visible' in the dropdown menu
  3. Configure each repository by entering the client ID and secret. Make sure you don't include any white space in the text boxes!
  4. Save changes

Capabilities

There is just one capability, View box.net repository, which is allowed for the default authenticated user role.
