Hi, | |||
I think the definition should be expanded to include that cohorts can be category or site wide
Currently | |||
"Cohorts, or site-wide groups, enable all members of a cohort to be enrolled in a course in one action, either manually or synchronised automatically."
But later on it reads | |||
"Cohorts which have been created for a category rather than the system can be located by selecting the appropriate category and then clicking the Cohorts link in Administration>Category (name)>Cohorts"
My suggestion is | |||
"Cohorts are site-wide or category-wide groups. Cohorts enable all members of a cohort to be enrolled in a course in one action, either manually or synchronised automatically."

Cohorts FAQ
Just wondering if there is a need for a cohorts FAQ page, realising that we already have a Groups FAQ and a Groupings FAQ so it might be too much. But cohorts are different from groups and groupings and often there are misunderstandings. I was about to add an FAQ to the cohorts FAQ and realised there isn't one! If others think it is not necessary, that's fine, although I am sure there would be questions to add to it.--Mary Cooch 23:46, 25 January 2013 (WST)

site wide groups
Hi, I think the definition should be expanded to include that cohorts can be category or site wide
Currently "Cohorts, or site-wide groups, enable all members of a cohort to be enrolled in a course in one action, either manually or synchronised automatically." But later on it reads "Cohorts which have been created for a category rather than the system can be located by selecting the appropriate category and then clicking the Cohorts link in Administration>Category (name)>Cohorts"
My suggestion is "Cohorts are site-wide or category-wide groups. Cohorts enable all members of a cohort to be enrolled in a course in one action, either manually or synchronised automatically." rgds Paul
