What is plagiarism?

Plagiarism is the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as your own. These days the internet is a frequent source of plagiarism by students.

How can I stop my students sending me work they have copied from the internet?

Education is by far the best long term prevention method! In the meantime, Moodle has some plugins which may be added to your site which will detect when students have copied work from online sources. See Managing plagiarism prevention for some suggestions.
