A course activity report, showing the number of views for each activity and resource (and any related blog entries), can be viewed by managers, teachers and non-editing teachers (and any other users with the capability [[Capabilities/report/outline:view|report/outline:view]]) in ''Navigation > Courses > My course > Reports > Activity report''.

To access an activity report, log in as a teacher or administrator. Then, select the course you would like the activity report for. From this page, you can select the link "Full report of recent activity..." in the "recent activity" box. This will bring you to a report. To refine the report, click "Advanced search". Note that this is a link, not a button. From here, you can select who you want a report on, which activities, which groups, and how far back to search. You can also select how to sort the results. For example, to generate a report about assignments from Colin Jones, dating back to the beginning of the course, select "Colin Jones" under "Participants", "All assignments" under "Activities", and "All days" under "Since", then click "Show recent activity". This is a button. This will generate a report grouped by topic.
An activity report for the front page is available for administrators and managers in ''Navigation > Site pages > Reports > Activity report''.
Note that it is not possible to generate a report on a subset of students, except for groups you have already defined.

Course activity reports

Course activity report

A course activity report, showing the number of views for each activity and resource (and any related blog entries), can be viewed by managers, teachers and non-editing teachers (and any other users with the capability report/outline:view) in Navigation > Courses > My course > Reports > Activity report.

An activity report for the front page is available for administrators and managers in Navigation > Site pages > Reports > Activity report.

The length of time that the activity report covers is determined by the loglifetime setting in Settings > Site administration > Courses > Backups > General backup defaults.

Individual activity reports

If activity reports are enabled for a course in the course settings, each course participant can access reports of their contributions, such as forum posts or assignment submissions, logs and a statistics report.
