Overview
Recoil is a 3 column theme for Moodle 2.4 (More versions soon to come). It mainly features a simplistic feel using drop shadows and gradients. The layout itself contains no images, all effects are done in CSS.
Installation
To install the Recoil theme, follow these steps:
- Download the theme from https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=theme_recoil.
- Extract and upload to your Moodle code in the folder moodle/theme.
- Log in as an Administrator in your Moodle site, you should be prompted to update the database. (Note that you may have to go to the home page).
- While still logged in as an Administrator, go to Site administration->Appearance->Themes->Theme selector.
- Near the Default theme choose Change theme.
- Scroll down and find Recoil, choose Use theme.
Adding a Logo
The Recoil theme has the option to add a custom logo.
- While logged in as an Administrator, go to Site administration->Themes->Recoil
- Enter the URL of your logo. (Note: this must be an absolute path, eg. http://exampledomain.com/image.png).
- Click Save changes
Troubleshooting
Theme does not show up in the Theme selector
Try going to Site administration->Themes->Theme selector and choose Clear theme caches.
If the theme still is not showing up, verify that the "recoil" folder is uploaded to your Moodle code on your server; moodle/theme.
