The term Templates has a special meaning in databases.
Wiki or MoodleDoc
The term Templates is also used in editing MoodleDocs. They are are segments of Wiki markup that are meant to be copied automatically ("transcluded") into a page. You add them by putting the template's name in {{double braces}}. From wikimedia.org Edit Templates

The above code looks like the Moodle 1.5 box you see on the right.
- Second example:
Near the bottom of this page is another template that says something like "This article is a stub. You can help Moodle Docs by expanding it."
