Moodle is most commonly installed on a web server to work but you can run it standalone.
This section contains information and resources about what to do before and during installation of Moodle:
- Browse and choose the right download package for your needs.
- Go through installation or an upgrade step-by-step.
- Learn why and how to register your site.
- See where you can try and play with Moodle or get it freely installed for you.
- Check how to find and select a web host that suits you.
Once you have successfully installed Moodle, you can explore the Managing a Moodle site section of these docs for information about managing your site, mostly as Administrator.
