Template:JPG Slideshow

Name of this Slideshow

This is where to enter a name or title for your slideshow. This is what appears as text beside the slideshow icon icon in the course page. If no name is entered this will default to JPG Slideshow, although the module can now deal with gif's and png's as well.

Slideshow directory

Select a directory here. The dropdown will show all directories in the course files area, except backups and module data. You can select a directory before there are any images in it and upload the images later, but it is usually easier to put your slideshow images in a separate directory first.

Display filename/caption?

These radio buttons enable captions and their positioning. At first, until captions are entered, the filenames will be displayed as captions. Teachers will see a link to a page that allows them to edit captions against thumbnails of the full size pictures. Captions can contain html content like headings, lists, etc.

force recompression

Normally the slideshow module will try to compress large filesizes by reducing the image size to fit within the site-wide limits which can be changed by admins. Once it has generated a thumbnail it will not do this automatically again, but an image is reloaded or these values change, then this link will force an attempt to recompress all images to within the site limits.
