Welcome to the wonderful world of wiki :-) I was directed here when I tried to add a comment to my own AL blog.  I expect that's how you got here too.  Or maybe you tried to comment on someone else's blog - I tried that too.  Anyhow, when I got here the page didn't exist.  So I decided to create it.  To do that I had to register with Moodle.org, which was easy enough.  If you want to add a bit more, feel free.  Especially if you can say something useful, such as how to add a comment to your own or someone else's blog.

I also had the same problem, that is, students could not create a new post. I found that to make this possible it was necessary to override the student permissions for oublog:manageposts. It was necessary to change this from 'Inherit' to 'Allow'. I did this for the particular course blog, rather than at the system level.
In my opinion, this is a bug. It should only need to be necessary to enable oublog:post and oublog:view.

I seem to be the first person to try to write something in this article, unfortunately I can't write anything useful, but perhaps someone from LTS will come along and change it!

Additional permissions required

I also had the same problem, that is, students could not create a new post. I found that to make this possible it was necessary to override the student permissions for oublog:manageposts. It was necessary to change this from 'Inherit' to 'Allow'. I did this for the particular course blog, rather than at the system level.

In my opinion, this is a bug. It should only need to be necessary to enable oublog:post and oublog:view.

I seem to be the first person to try to write something in this article, unfortunately I can't write anything useful, but perhaps someone from LTS will come along and change it!
