Comments from overview

Import_PowerPoint - OU, Dec 10, 1.8 & 1.6 VI, lots of info but really need to test all this to see things in Moodle 2.

Absolutely needs to be checked in 2.0. I have not. I am deleting all the page comments. I will delete info on Import PowerPoint that I think does not apply to 2.0. See Moodle Docs 1.9 if you want to read the previous version of this page. --Chris collman 19:31, 19 September 2011 (WST)

History about Import PPT into a lesson

In previous version of Moodle, the expectation of the user generally exceeded the ability of this feature. This means that the PowerPoint code is complicated and the way it labels elements within a slide changes with each version. No developers have stepped forward to invest time in improving this feature because there are other ways to present a PowerPoint in Moodle. For example, spending money on a program to create a flash file of a PowerPoint and then inserting that file as a resource (or object) in a course (or lesson page) works much better for most institutions.

However, Import PowerPoint can create a series of pages, which even if blank can speed the lesson building process.--Chris collman 19:48, 19 September 2011 (WST)
