Page comment

If you click (like I did) on the "Moodle docs page about this" from a contextual popup (?) Help window you can wind up here.

In my case the window was about how the "short name" for a course was used. This page was empty then, so it didn't help much :-(

Unfortunately the popup window links aren't context sensitive (to the original click) so you are just wind up here. What you could try is go back to the PAGE with the (?) you clicked. Go to the Moodle Docs link for that PAGE. Hopefully that page will contain something about your question. --Jeff Forssell (CDT)03:49, April 4, 2006

Help pop-ups should not contain a "Moodle Docs for this page link". If they do, please report it in the tracker. --Helen Foster 02:59, 5 October 2007 (CDT)

help comment2

  • This page name should be "Help", not "help". I am being picky :)
  • I will move most of the current contents of this article to the page comment section. And then see if I can duplicate what maybe have been a problem.
  • I think it is also a one of those Disambiguation pages and will edit the page with that in mind for all those lost soles (forgetful me at the head of that line). --Chris collman 06:45, 4 October 2007 (CDT)

Help files

Been searching for a "Help files" page or information on this subject. I don't see where we have documented for the new user where the help files are located, I could be blind. Just realized that the information icon leads to docs.moodle.org and the help icon leads to internal files. I was calling both "help" and while both are helpful they use different icons for a reason.

Helen do you have an idea for a page name (if one is needed)? "Help files", "Moodle site help links", "Help screens", "Help files (site)" . I like the first.  :) Best --Chris collman 06:51, 4 October 2007 (CDT)
Hi Chris, do we really need a page in the documentation describing help files? I'm not sure we do. How much is there to say about help files? --Helen Foster 03:03, 5 October 2007 (CDT)
