Unnecessary page

I don't think it's necessary to have a separate page about adding/editing course categories, as the information is included in the Add/edit courses page. Add/edit courses is linked from the Add/edit courses page within Moodle.

I suggest we move information from Add/edit course categories to Add/edit courses and then delete this page. --Helen Foster 08:58, 4 October 2007 (CDT)

Forget my suggestion - there's clearly lots to write about course categories, so better to have a separate page! --Helen Foster 14:21, 14 January 2010 (UTC)


Hiding categories

The Hiding Categories section on this page says:

"By default, all courses inside a hidden category are not available for students to access, but you can go to Administration > Front Page > Front Page Settings and click the checkbox to 'Allow visible courses in hidden categories'". According to MDL-26002 this "Allow visible courses in hidden categories" option has been removed. Is this correct?

In that MDL-26002 Petr describes the new rules, but not everybody will know about MDL-26002, so these new rules should be described here. --Luis de Vasconcelos 16:49, 1 November 2011 (WST)
