INSTALLATION
Important Note: The HSU forums module has been developed on a 1.8.2 version of Moodle. While we have had good results with 1.8.x and 1.9, we recommend you proceed cautiously if you are running a later version, as it is a modification to a Moodle core module and Moodle core block.
In these instructions the moodle/ directory is assumed to be the main Moodle directory. Replace moodle/ with whatever your main Moodle directory is called.
- 1. Copy the mod/forum directory to your moodle/mod folder this will overwrite your forums module.
- 2. Copy the blocks/recent_activity directory to your moodle/blocks folder. This will overwrite your current recent activity block.
- 3. Copy the lang/en_utf8/help/forum directory to your moodle/lang/en_utf8/help directory. This will overwrite your moodle/lang/en_utf8/help/forum directory.
- 4. Copy the lang/en_utf8/forum.php file to your moodle/lang/en_utf8/ folder. This will overwrite your moodle/lang/en_utf8/forum.php file.
- 5. Copy the user/editlib.php file to your moodle/user/ folder. This will overwrite your current moodle/user/editlib.php file.
- 6. Navigate to your Moodle install and click on the notifications link under the site admin block to update the database and capabilities.
