Doodle Mervin Praison Summary

Doodle is a popular online system for scheduling events which involve many participants. It is often the case that a course administrator would like to schedule meetings with a student, or groups of students. At the moment Moodle does not support this functionality, so the administrator might use Doodle instead. The problem is that the administrator must manually transfer details of students and groups to doodle, and manually manage the emails for confirming the meetings. Providing Doodle-like functionality in Moodle would greatly simplify scheduling meetings with students. The aim of this project is to provide such functionality within Moodle.

Moodle Doodle Integration

Doodle has widely used functionality, which will be useful for e-learning communities. Moodle being the top used online application for e-learners; it will be more effective, if this “Polling” functionality is available in Moodle. In most often case, the Course Administrator has to schedule meetings with Students. So considering each student or a group of students, Course Administrator has to send each student a mail, expecting suggestions for scheduling an event from doodle.com. After each replies from students, Administrator has to analyse the results. It is really tough for the Course Administrator to again get back the details from doodle.com to Moodle and re-manage the event and adding it to the events list. So it will be more useful if the application is inbuilt in Moodle. Mailing lists will be more Manageable if the “Polling” functionality is available in Moodle.
