This page does not make it clear where one would go to in order to change the configuration of the editor itself (e.g. to add an additional font to the dropdown list) posted by Robert Huffstedtler chris collman 05:58, 22 September 2007 (CDT)

::Good point about a lack of information.  I don't know much about adding fonts to the HTML editor.  Did go to demo.moodle.org and add a font which appeared in the HTML editor.  This page is for teachers, I am not sure how a teacher adds a font to their course.  I did figure out how to add a font to all HTML editors on the site via the Admin block, but there are no instructions on the settings page nor in help !  I will make a stab HTML editor settings...Thanks--chris collman 05:58, 22 September 2007 (CDT)

I like the way that table was laid out in edit mode and learned something.  Very nice clear. I added the copy, paste and cut shortcuts.
Need a few clues in  groups , perhaps words with links to other pagesFor example the "Word" icon tool.

I was not sure that all those commands would work on all platforms. I use Windows and Mozilla when I went to demo.moodle.org and tried a couple of them.  They seemed to work.  Thanks for the addition. --chris collman 17:48, 5 December 2007 (CST)

::Noticed at least one duplicate "Cont-O". Still need to check each one in demo.moodle.org.  Would like rearrange table to take up less visual space, perhaps 2 columns.  And/or shorter tables placed under subheading.  I suspect my splits could offend heavy users of shortcut keys.

What happened to this page - now a sandbox?
There appears to be a bunch of html text which has been added to the article.  I don't get it, but I am not a real strong HTML editor. It is either a work in progress or the page is being used inadvertently as a sandboxI am asking Helen for a review, because she understands these things better (big grin). --chris collman 08:56, 24 March 2008 (CDT)

Still needs work but
I keep seeing posts in forums that relate to the HTML editor.  I like to refer people to MoodleDocs and notice the HTML pages are really old.  So I decided to reorganize the page and add some icons for the more HTML Moodle specific tasks.  There is similar information on "page content".  I tried not to duplicate, nor did I think it is really necessary to cover undo, redo or how to change a font.  I could be wrong there :)

I am sticking with editing this page for now.  I really don't have an opinion on which page this information should be located, it just needs to exist. Best to all, my MoodleDoc edit for the day! --chris collman 08:59, 28 March 2008 (CDT)

Suggested improvements December 2010

HTML_editor_2.0 - GC, Dec 10, also useful is the old HTML editor mention HTML tags in activity names + smileys (all in HTML Settings item for Admins to turn on/off ...) Text_editors - OU,Dec 10, TinyMCE linked Need a few clues in groups , perhaps words with links to other pages. For example the "Word" icon tool.

Note formally called the HTML editor page. While the Moodle text editor (and other word processors text editor tools) does more than make text look pretty, calling it a content editor would be confusing and calling it an HTML editor is unnecessary from the teacher/student user interface point of view. One of it's option is HTML code editing. --Chris collman 00:34, 26 August 2011 (WST)
