Page module settings
Note: You are currently viewing documentation for Moodle 2.0. Up-to-date documentation for the latest stable version is available here: Page module settings.
Adding a new page to your course
- From the "Add a resource" drop down menu, choose Page
- In the "Adding a new page" screen that follows, give your page a name and a description (which may or may not be required according to admin settings)
- Add your content to the Page content section.
Course administration settings
- You can choose to display the page name or not, and by clicking on Advanced Settings can choose whether to display its description or not. (Whether or not you see these options depends on your admin settings)
In Moodle 2.2 onwards, there is an option to display the page description on the course page below the link to the page. See the screencast Moodle 2.2 - Show descriptions for a demonstration by developer Sam Marshall.
Site administration settings
The page module has additional settings which may be changed by an administrator in Settings > Site administration > Plugins > Activity modules > Page.
Require activity description
This setting allows you to turn off the requirement for users to type something into the description box.
Available display options
This setting allows you to add different ways the resource may be displayed on the course page.
Default values for activity settings
Here you can set the defaults for this resource. You can also choose which setting(s) to class as "Advanced". These settings will only then appear if the user clicks "Show advanced" in the settings.
