Hi, I am a newbie, been using Moodle since Jan 2006. Very interesting, this showed up as a hit on Google!

Here is a brief bio. As a support person, I work with Moodle 1.5.3 within a very specific learning environment, 'certified training' for state agencies. Most Moodlers are trying to be fantastic educators and interact with students for weeks or months. Our goals are similar but the interaction is very different.

My background includes applied anthropology, manufacturing, a little higher eduction administration, with genealogy thrown in as a hobby. The major part of my job is to be the interactive video event coordinator for a state agency which does 500-600 hours of training by this method a year. We generally link our 4 sites when we deliver training. From time to time we collaborate with other state agencies and sites in our state.

I am starting to feel both smart and as dumb as a box of wheelbarrow handles. My current is what I call straight line basic : ??? for dummies. Figure the smarter I get the less I can relate to where I used to be. So I am sort of blogging.

In April 06, I have I have finally figured out a really dumb way of having two versions of moodle on my Windows XP computer. It requires some creative renaming and being brave in editing two files. My more complicated straight line basic project is to document how to convert a 1 server, 1 version of Moodle, into 1 server with 2 versions of Moodle.
