Turnitin Plagiarism Prevention

Turnitin is a commercial plagiarism detection system and there are currently 3 different options available to use within Moodle.

Core Plagiarism Prevention Plugins

A new Plagiarism Prevention plugin system is available in Moodle 2.0 written by Dan Marsden from Catalyst IT which allows existing Modules to "call" the plagiarism service. It has been added to the upload and uploadsingle assignment types, but eventually support will be added to other areas. This is a generic plugin system and other Plagiarism products will be added in future. An older more limited version of this plugin for Moodle 1.9 is available here: http://moodle.org/mod/data/view.php?d=13&rid=1562

Moodle Direct Plugin

A standalone Module for Moodle 1.9 has been developed by Nlearning (UK based Turnitin Support agency) - This module is similar to the advanced assignment type in Moodle, however it adds a range of Turnitin specific functionality. for more detail see: http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=149575

Moodle Basic Plugin

The original Assignment type developed by Iparadigms (Turnitin Development team) which is very basic and really only provides SSO into the Turnitin site and pushes back grades into Moodle.
