Talk:Windows installation using XAMPP
Note: You are currently viewing documentation for Moodle 1.9. Up-to-date documentation for the latest stable version is available here: Windows installation using XAMPP.
Extaction of moodle files
When you extract the moodle files into the htdocs folder it does indeed create a moodle folder. However you seem to have to go to
to get the install.php to work (it says http:\\localhost\moodle in the guide)
I downloaded and installed the XAMPP package to my computer and actually got it working without any instructions. Problem is, now that I read the instructions, I wonder what on earth these instructions are for because the installation process looked virtually nothing like these instructions describe it. I mean what is the point of downloading this separate XAMPP stuff? I never knew I needed to download it and everything worked fine without this XAMPP thing. --N Hansen 10:45, 4 May 2006 (WST)

Hi Ray, please could you advise me if this page should be renamed "Windows installation using XAMPP". --Helen Foster 15:54, 5 May 2006 (WST)
Yes this is the one. Sorry, I thought I'd done that successfully yesterday.
