Aprendizagem no Moodle

Branch table comment: Don't know the above means. I sure wish we called "branch tables", branch pages. I expanded the intro to branch tables to point out that they are similar to question pages that we just got done describing in great detail. I put in an example of a series of branch tables which is followed by a question page. This might be more typical for older students.--Chris collman 2 21:43, 25 April 2006 (WST)

Why not use the above link to direct people to the demo moodle and the lesson topic? I am not very good at links. --Chris collman 2 21:59, 25 April 2006 (WST)

Chris also proposes changing the first paragraph in to read:

A lesson delivers content in interesting and flexible ways. It consists of a number of pages. Each page leads to another page. Students are given content and choices which determine the next page they see. The question page is the most common type. It has content which ends with a question and the page shows a number of possible answers. The student's answer choice determines the next page they see. Branch tables are another type of page where students see content and can choose to move to different parts of the lesson. Navigation through the lesson can be straight forward or complex and depends upon the structure of the material being presented. --Chris collman 2 09:25, 26 April 2006 (WST)

I would propose changing the answer section to prepare reader for 1.5 and 1.6. Since I use scoring I am not familiar with what seem to me to be an unnecessaryly long description of right and wrong answers being determined by their jumps in the logical order. Answers Typically each question within a lesson will have one correct answer and several wrong answers, the familiar multiple choise question. In earlier versions of Moodle, the direction students were sent in the logical order of pages determined if the answer was correct or wrong for scoring purposes. Usually correct answer advance the student in the logical order and wrong answers send the students back to the question page or back in the logical order.

In version 1.5 and later each question answer is individually scored. Usually a correct answer receives a score of 1, any wrong answer receive a score 0. It is possible to give a negative score or partial credit for any answer.

When a question page is added, the jumps have a default setting. The jump for the first answer is the Next Page and it is a good practice to keep this as a right answer. The jumps for the subsequent answers are set to Same Page. The score for the first answer is 1 and for the rest 0. These settings can be changed by editing the question. Remember the order of the answers is going to be random each time a student enters the question page.

When Custom Scoring is turned On in the Lesson settings, then each answer has a point value associated with it. Next we will discuss grading a student's lesson.

In the above, I am not sure if movement in the logical order is still important in 1.5 and later, as it was in earlier version. The next section in grading, I wonder if branch tables count as pages seen? --Chris collman 2 10:44, 26 April 2006 (WST)
