Thank you Helen. I now have a better idea of the 3 modules. It would also seem that the plan to consolidate Workshop and Assignment would argue to be careful with doing a lot of writing in MoodleDocs because the whole schema is in flux.  Workshop is '''Very powerful'''  I will try to make some short comments today on the Talk:Workshop module page.  Best --[[User:chris collman|chris collman]] 05:49, 24 September 2007 (CDT)

Questions

I would appreciate comments being placed after my questions. I posted these questions in the Exercise Forum here Thanks

Difference between modules

What is the difference between Exercise, Workshop and Assignment modules (from a newbie, perhaps teacher perspective)--Chris collman 08:52, 23 September 2007 (CDT)

  • The Exercise module has been non-standard since at least Moodle 1.4 (when I first started using Moodle!) I've never had chance to try it, so I can't say what it is like, or whether it works in more recent versions of Moodle.
  • The Workshop module is a powerful peer-assessment activity. A new version is currently being developed.
  • The Assignment module provides a number of ways of collecting and grading student work. --Helen Foster 02:55, 24 September 2007 (CDT)

Expand exercise in MoodleDocs?

Should I or someone bother creating an Exercise template and otherwise developing links for Exercise?--Chris collman 08:52, 23 September 2007 (CDT)

I would suggest we focus on standard Moodle features, rather than the exercise module. --Helen Foster 03:01, 24 September 2007 (CDT)

Exercise in Workshop

Should I or someone point out how the Exercise concept can be implemented in Workshop, the link to the Exercise module page?--Chris collman 08:52, 23 September 2007 (CDT)

You may want to wait until the new workshop module is released in order to check how the exercise concept is implemented. --Helen Foster 03:03, 24 September 2007 (CDT)
