Roadmap

From MoodleDocs

This roadmap collects the best information about upcoming features in Moodle. It is not 100% certain - features may change according to available funding and developers.

Version 2.0

Moodle 2.0, our biggest release ever - two and a half years of work by hundreds of people - is now available! It contains a huge number of core changes to the platform, most of which are designed to give 3rd party developers more flexibility, scalability and safety.

Please see the Moodle 2.0 release notes for details.

Version 2.1

Release date: 30th June 2011

New minimum requirement: PHP 5.3

In Moodle 2.1 the core development teams will focus on improving core interfaces for users:

Version 2.2

Release date: 23rd December 2011

Version 2.3

Release date: 29th June 2012

NOTICE! We plan to remove our proprietary MNet subsystem from Moodle in this release, and replace it with standard web service functions. We will be working with the Mahara developers to ensure a smooth changeover, but the new system will not be directly backward-compatible with MNet. This means that if you use MNet in a significant way, you need to upgrade all your networked systems at the same time and reconfigure the networking.
