Starting MoodleDocs in another language

• Identify at least one person willing to take on the responsibility of site administrator (sysop).
• Download MediaWiki and install in the required language xx, including configuration of URLs as docs.moodle.org/xx/..

Core documentation

• Create core category pages, named in language xx, using text from the docs files from the language pack.

MoodleDocs initial pages

Start by translating the following, including page names:

• Main Page
• Help:Editing
• Help:Contents
• MoodleDocs:Guidelines for contributors
• MoodleDocs:Protected page (please respect protected pages)
• Optional: Additional MoodleDocs pages

Link pages

• Create a set of link pages, named in English, from a single page listing all the links.
• Move/redirect (using #REDIRECT [[Page name]]) all link pages to provide translated page names.

System messages

Translate the MediaWiki tabs:

• MediaWiki:Talk - e.g. page comments
• MediaWiki:Edit
• MediaWiki:Viewsource
• MediaWiki:History short
• MediaWiki:Watch
• MediaWiki:Unwatch
• MediaWiki:Move
• MediaWiki:Protect
• MediaWiki:Unprotect
• MediaWiki:Specialpage

Optional: translate additional system messages

Interwiki linking

• Enable interlanguage linking between core category pages and link pages in different languages.

Publicity

• Announce MoodleDocs in the moodle.org community discussion course.
• Add an RSS feed block to the community discussion course.
