When Moodle is [[Installing_Moodle|installed]], these standard [[Roles|roles]] are created automatically:

* [[Teacher_role#Non-editing_teacher|Non-editing teacher role]]
* [[Teacher role]]
* [[Course creator role]]
* [[Administrator role]]

After installing Moodle, you can create new roles, and change the definition of existing roles, using the [[Manage_roles|roles administration interface]].
