The URL downloader repository is used to obtain resources by providing a url to webpage or file.
The URL downloader repository enables users to enter the URL of an image (any type e.g. png, jpg) for copying into Moodle. It may also be used to obtain all images from a web page by entering the web page address.


If user provides a html web page, Moodle will parse the web page to list all images used in web page.
It's useful when you need to get a larger file to your course, as you don't need to save the file on your computer then upload it to Moodle - instead you simply ask Moodle to fetch it directly.

If user provides a link to file, Moodle will try to download this file no matter what type it is.
