This page should explain what can be seen on the moodlesite.com/mod/forum/index.php page
The forum module is an activity where students and teachers can exchange ideas by posting comments. There are four basic forum types. Forum posts can be graded by the teacher or other students.
(the page which aggregates all forums in a course)

This is the page where you can see all the forum activities in the course. They are divided into two main categories:

# '''General forums''' (under which you will find the forums concerning the whole course)
A forum can contribute significantly to successful communication and community building in an online environment. You can use forums for many innovative purposes in educational settings, but teaching forums and student forums are arguably the two more significant distinctions.
# '''Learning forums''' (the forums of the specific parts of the course: they are organized and numbered according to the course blocks they appear in).
