What is Moodle?

| Moodle is a a free, Open Source course management system (CMS) software package designed using sound pedagogical principles, to help educators create effective online learning communities.

You can download and use it on any computer you have handy (including webhosts), yet it can scale from a single-teacher site to a 40,000-student University.

What is MoodleDocs?

MoodleDocs is the documentation project for Moodle that anyone may contribute to! :-)

If you wish to help out then have a look at the documentation plan to see what work is needed and why. Then you can get stuck into editing pages. If you want access to a Moodle site to use for taking screen captures or exploring the many Moodle features then you can use the Demo site

If all of that seems a little overwhelming and you want to experiment with the wiki first then have a play in our sandbox! ;-)
