this block is also known as "Learning Stations Block".

The Page Tracker Block is a utility block that allows exposing simple navigation menus in a Page Course Format

You can alternatively also use the Pagemenu Module as a module to build such navigation principles.

The page tracker block as some additionnal feature as a visual visit tracking indicators. Those indicators tell the user about unvisited pages.

One single instance of a page tracker can only expose one node siblings, developping a configurable amount of sublevels.

Requirements

This block needs the Page Course Format to be installed.

Installation

Deploy the Page Tracker archive into the "blocks" directory of Moodle Run the Administration -> Notification to finish install.

Settings

The Page Tracker Block has several settings that help to obtain a flexible menu depending on page construction and requirements.

Global settings

No global settings.

Instance settings

  • Title: the visible block title. Will default to "Learning Stations"
  • Allow links: this will let choose when (and which) pages appear as links
    • None: No links
    • Visited pages: will provide links on pages the user has some log traces in
    • All pages: will always provide links
  • Hide disabled links: this will completely hide pages the user has not yet visited.
  • start page: defines the starting page. all subnodes of this page will be displayed
  • Depth: the page_tracker will scan the start page subpages until this depth (relative to start page) is reached
