Tip #2 about preventing teachers from editing the course's full name, short name, or ID number fields doesn't seem to work in 1.9.2 - I went to Define Roles, edited the Teacher role, and I don't see anything matching those capabilities. Christina Heikkila

:Hi Christina,  Thanks for comment, those instructions needed to be a bit more 1.9ish. I went to demo.moodle.org, logged in as admin and was able to see the things which could be changed. You may notice the faded text below the English permission.  I believe this is the code identifier.  It is an old habit for some people to use that id. Since the permissions go on for screens, I tend to use a search function (Ctr F in Mozilla Firefox) to find anything on that screen :)  Hope this helps - Chris

This page is linked via the main page by administrators>user management>enrol students. There is nothing here about that. Is there a linking problem or is the page just incomplete???? --Robin Greaves 13:38, 30 April 2007 (CDT)

Hi Robin, I'm not sure how you arrived here from enrol students, as this page is linked from the Add/edit courses page within Moodle. What version of Moodle are you using? --Helen Foster 09:01, 4 October 2007 (CDT)

How do I set the default category for new courses to be added to? Donna Hrynkiw 12:06, 21 May 2008 (CDT)

Good question Donna! Please see the tip added to Add/edit courses. --Helen Foster 02:31, 22 May 2008 (CDT)
