Template:Editing settings

Please refer to these notes before editing this page.

For every context in Moodle there are one or more pages of settings that impact it Remember the basic structure of Moodle has a hierarchy of contexts that work with roles.

Thus there maybe a site setting that effects what a teacher will see or have available in any course. Or a teacher may set up one quiz that a student can teke many times, and another quiz with the same questions that a student can only take once.

There are two primary areas where settings can be found: The Settings block and the Navigation block. However, clicking on a context, say a Lesson, may change what appears in both these blocks. With"Editing turned on", clicking on the edit icon (the hand with a pencil), will usually take the teacher to a settings page.
