What shall we do here, then?

I'm not sure I fully understand this page as some of these answers can be found by simply searching this site eg what is a metacourse and all of the setting up activities questions. I have also noticed pedogical pages in this wiki and there is a teacher overview page also which covers getting started / day to day type needs and jumps to pages with more depth. I am wondering where this article fits without simply explaining the same things in different ways. I think a teacher FAQ could be very useful but would be intersted in what others want from it before I roll my sleeves up :-) --Darren Smith 00:52, 11 April 2006 (WST)

Well, this page is a translation of a page in the Dutch Moodle.org area. There it intends to provide some answers to questions teachers ask regularly to Moodle administrators. I agree that probably all questions are answered elsewhere already, so that gives IMHO two options: delete the page, since everything already answered or create links to the explanation and even extend the page. I don't like the idea of rewriting everything here. Nothing is worse then keeping the same information up to date on different locations. --Koen roggemans 04:51, 26 April 2006 (WST)
If this page is not deleted, why not just put in a link to some index or other MoodleDoc pages. Yes it is redundant but it is also user friendly. Sometimes new users (and old bald ones) don't know what to search on. FAQ might be such a search term a newbie might use.I will add one in Lesson --Chris collman 00:07, 20 July 2006 (WST)

This page shows too many unanswered questions. In my opinion, they'd better be deleted and we should just start up again with a short collection of questions about teaching practices with Moodle (I can start, if nobody objects) Jaime Villate 07:44, 10 January 2008 (CST)

Yes please Jaime, deleting unanswered questions seems a sensible thing to do. Adding questions and answers about teaching practices would be most helpful. --Helen Foster 08:01, 10 January 2008 (CST)

Changes (Nov 2010) ...

In light of Moodle 2.0 coming out, Martin has asked me to re-do the Teacher Docs section. The questions on the 'front' page of Teacher Docs are from a document, asked and spread over social media and created over time, where we (as in HQ) have asked educators and users 'what are the most common, general questions educators have about Moodle'- now we have them in Teacher Docs.

Big thank you to Chris Collman for helping out with answers to some of these questions already and to Tabitha Roder for helping out (elsewhere) with these. I will be inserting more tool-specific FAQ to their respective places very soon and probably expand on a few pedagogical ones here. --Tomaz Lasic 01:00, 1 December 2010 (UTC) (sorry, forgot to include my name & timestamp initially)

Moodle 2.0

One of the issues is going to be Moodle 2.0 specific Qs and we should be mindful of using the yellow {{Moodle 2.0}} or perhaps even simple brackets (Moodle 2.0) to indicate the question and/or answer relates to M2.

Hi, some of the questions seemed a little simplistic, and at times had hint of antagonism. Thus are probably very real and hard to answer simply :) I did not realize this was a WIP until I was well into it then saw the deadline had passed (whew). Definitely need lots of links on any FAQ page.
M2.pngThe issue about giving people some clues about 2.0 is really important throughout Moodle Docs. Think we will have to sort of put a link in the intro of a page when the feature is really different. I like the "M2" shorthand. Wonder if HQ has a smaller "in line with text" image we can use as a insert M2.png or bullet when needed. Mine do not have the Moodle professional look.
M2-a.png Oops, came up with something at lunch time and forgot to post this :) --Chris collman 19:23, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

Thanks Chris. I tidied up the questions/answers a bit and added to complete the list we currently have.

Love the M2.png and M2-a.png, very handy. We discussed ways of demarcating M2-related contributions in Docs last week in our HQ meeting, would like to hear what Helen & others think of your 'bullets' and ways of using them. --Tomaz Lasic 01:00, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
