Hands on example

Hi Pierre, you have put a lot of work into this page. Even a non-math person starts to get the idea about the Calculated question construction. I wish MoodleDocs had more examples like this.

However, I was confused when I saw this in the Question template and thought there was a new question type called "Simple calculated". After thinking about what might be a better page name, or visible link in the template, I realized the naming requires more thought and having this page in plain sight is better than someone not knowing it existed :)

This really brings up a wonderful issue for MoodleDocs in my opinion. It is about time to be giving consideration to this class of pages and instructions. How do people find it. For example, I can imagine several examples of calculated questions types, as well as short answer, not to mention examples of Lesson construction.

As you know, there are always posts to forums requesting examples. To the best of my knowledge, we do not have a system to draw attention to these kinds of pages. I will be raising this in one of the summer projects (useability) that is generally geared for developers and again in the Moodle documentation forum to get some direction. Got to run to work to meet someone in Europe. Again, thanks for this page --chris collman 11:28, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

There is a new question type called Simple calculated! (2.0 dev only)--Tim Hunt 06:44, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks Tim, appreciate your forward thinking as always. Best --chris collman 18:21, 11 June 2009 (UTC)Chris
