Talk:Course backup

From MoodleDocs

Lots of good stuff was put in this page prior to my edit, but it needed formatting. Removed stub template. I have screen shots of just about every screen (or parts of the screen) but did not insert them. Made note that the described process was for version 1.6, earlier version will probably understand.

Probably need some real examples of creative backups or restores. That is for another day or someone else. --Chris collman 08:25, 4 October 2006 (CDT)

Restore starting point

This article begins "If you choose to restore any of the files, you will move to another page..." but it does not tell me where to begin, on what screen do I get to choose restore? Not sure how this wiki dev will work or if anyone will see this.

You will find a restore link in the course administration block. Please note that you may only restore backup zip files. If you backup a course, or upload a backup zip file, you will find a restore link opposite the zip file. -- Helen Foster 08:25, 26 January 2006 (WST)

Moodlerooms Assignment 14.3 I found myself getting confused with the terminology as I was hoping to backup a practice course from Moodle 200-Moodle Administration to my hard drive in order to restore to a future Moodle server. May 28, 2009 Maureen Egan

Good point this could have been written for Version 1.5. Last week I have been doing "creative" backups and restores to build a course on my localhost for uploading to a production site. Hope the edits and reformatting helps. What terminology was confusing? Thanks for posting your comment.--Chris collman 13:20, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Backup restore reorganisation

Just to let anyone watching this page know, I'm planning to move all the information on Backup restore to either Course backup or Restore, then redirect the page to Course backup. --Helen Foster 07:30, 31 July 2008 (CDT)
